As an artist I am researching the location of the familiar in a
abstract sense. Detail, humor, beauty and lyrical abstraction
have been a preoccupation of how I look at objects, such as
photography and video.
There is a certain pull that I am attracted to, making beautiful
objects out of ordinary movements. The art work on this website is funny, impulsive, lonely and
spontaneous with influences hinted by the work of Sigmar Polke, Rem Koolhass & Peter Haley.
Salvatore Reda lives and works in Portland OR. His painting, photography and video work
has been exhibited at the Asian/Pacific/American (A/P/A) Institute at New York University,
Santa Monica Museum of Art, Sandunga. Galería de Arte, Spain, VIPER Basel, Basel
Switzerland, Laforet Museum in Harajuku, Nueva, Tokyo, and Adamski Gallery, Achen,
Germany. His art work delves in architecture and video as fantasy and nostalgia, from the
vernacular and domestic architecture of Los Angeles to that found in the Western and
Eastern United States.
Salvatore Reda received his MFA from Art Center College of Design in 2001. He studied
with Mike Kelly, Jack Goldstein, & Stephen Prina
